Parent & Student Testimonials

"Jacob worked with my son Connor for two years, and the improvement in his clarinet playing was incredible. Jacob is flexible and knowledgeable, and he worked with Connor both virtually and in person. Jacob helped set up a practice schedule and helped him stay on task with his college auditions. The band teacher even noted how much improvement there was in Connor’s clarinet performances when high school band returned after Covid restrictions were lifted. Connor is now first chair clarinet, playing with both orchestra and wind ensemble in his freshman year of college."

"I have studied with Mr. Moyer for two years, and it is incredible how much I have grown as a player since I started taking lessons. He has opened up countless opportunities for me and has enabled me to develop a much deeper understanding of music than before. Thanks to Mr. Moyer's guidance, I have been granted admission to globally-recognized summer orchestra festivals like the Sewanee Summer Music Festival and Le Domaine Forget de Charlevoix. Furthermore, Mr. Moyer helped me prepare a successful audition for an honor band that performed at Carnegie Hall. His teaching style is very clear, and he has many unique and creative exercises to help explain or develop concepts in clarinet playing, which make every lesson engaging and educational. Thanks to Mr. Moyer, I am growing more and more as a clarinetist and as a musician every day."
